Abstract

Purpose of review: Our objective is to identify effective prognostic biomarkers to help stratify and improve prognosis in patients with high grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC).

Recent findings: The majority of patients with HGSOC are diagnosed at advanced stage, with a five-year survival of approximately 30%. In the last decade, there has been an increase in the literature exploring factors associated with the progression and survival in high grade serous ovarian carcinoma. Given the genetic heterogeneity of HGSOC, previous literature conclusions were not exactly consistent.

Summary: CA-125, CCNE, CD4 and CD4/8 ratio are valuable in the prognosis stratification and the clinical significance of other indicators remains to be further investigated.
